If you’re a small to mid-sized PA manufacturer looking to cut emissions, lower energy costs, and boost competitiveness, RISE PA is an opportunity to improve your operational efficiency with up to $500K in funding. As administrator of the small award track grant distribution, PennTAP wants to share critical information to help applicants manage the process:
• Round 1 of the small award track will be announced in late 2025 or early 2026. If you applied for this round, stay tuned.
• Round 2 of the small award track closes for applications on December 15.
• Seven more rounds are planned for the small award track through 2029, with the next deadline anticipated to open in January and close on April 15, 2026.
If you are planning to apply for RISE PA, it’s important to be aware of the timeline for the application process:
• A qualified site assessment report is required as part of the application: As a selected qualified assessor, PennTAP’s no-cost Pollution Prevention & Energy Efficiency (P2/E2) Assessments meet this requirement. These assessments help manufacturers identify opportunities to lower operational costs, reduce environmental impact, and take a critical first step toward securing RISE PA funding. Catalyst Connection is also a qualified assessor for RISE PA and offers no-cost assessments.
• Plan for up to 2 weeks to schedule your site assessment with a technical advisor.
• Set aside time for yourself or a team member to compile and provide energy data to be used in the assessment.
• Plan for 6-8 weeks for our technical advisors to complete your report.
• If you’ve had an assessment report completed within the past two years, it’s highly likely that you are eligible to apply with your existing report and updated data. Reach your technical advisor to discuss this option.
PennTAP is committed to helping manufacturers navigate the RISE PA application process with confidence. The PennTAP RISE PA team offers resources, templates, and guidance to help simplify the process and support applicants in completing their submissions.
