Krista Schneider, LEED Green Associate, is a technical advisor serving Northeast Pennsylvania, working from the Penn State Hazleton campus. She connects small businesses, industries, and organizations in the region with the resources of the University in order to advance their innovation and sustainability goals. She also provides direct assistance in the form of energy and operational assessments, grant application support, and special project consulting.
Prior to joining PennTAP, Krista served for eight years as the Executive Director of the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, where she was responsible for the strategic planning, fundraising, and implementation of more than $6M of targeted revitalization initiatives. Her professional background includes more than twenty years of experience in community and economic development, grantsmanship, and entrepreneurship.
Krista obtained her Master’s Degree in Urban Design from Harvard University and her undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from Penn State. A former U.S. Army officer, she is also proud to have served her country both in the U.S. and abroad.
