Royal Smith, CEM, is a technical advisor with PennTAP, working from Penn State University Park. He performs on-site pollution prevention and energy efficiency assessments, and can assist with energy audits, including boilers, process heating, compressed air, power surveys, and pollution prevention. Royal can also help companies with project funding, such as utility rebates, the Small Business Advantage Grant Program, and the Rural Energy for America Program.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Penn State and is an individual member of the Association of Energy Engineers and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM®). Prior to becoming a member of PennTAP in 2015, Royal was an environmental consultant specializing in air quality, greenhouse gas, and sustainability projects.
