Denise Bechdel, CEA, REP, is the Energy and Environment team lead for PennTAP. She oversees the programs and personnel responsible for offering energy efficiency and pollution prevention assistance to small and midsize companies of all sectors throughout Pennsylvania.

Over the past 15 years, Denise has performed more than 250 on-site assessments to help companies reduce their energy consumption, decrease pollution and related costs, improve environmental compliance, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

She holds an associate degree in environmental technology from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management from Penn State. Denise was formerly an environmental consultant for the Penn State Small Business Development Center’s Environmental Management Assistance Program. She has certifications as a Renewable Energy Professional and as a Certified Energy Auditor.
