E3-Economy, Energy, and Environment
Are you looking for resources to provide your company with recommendations on how to best maximize productivity, minimize energy use, and improve environmental performance?
E3 provides manufacturers with customized, hands-on assessments of production processes to reduce energy consumption, prevent pollution, increase productivity, and drive innovation.
Since PennTAP’s E3 technical assistance has proven to be successful with other industrial manufacturing facility-based projects, the program looks toward the future. With additional funding from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), PennTAP’s E3 program has support through 2015. PennTAP is currently looking for four manufacturing companies to implement E3 projects at their facilities.
The program will promote E3 for Pennsylvania manufacturers with a special emphasis on methanol and solvent waste generators. These activities will focus on performing E3 events at small to mid-sized manufacturers while connecting companies to existing by-product synergy (BPS) networks.
As a result, E3:
- Helps foster a smarter and more efficient green workforce
- Promotes sustainable manufacturing and growth through innovation technology
- Reduces environmental impacts while regaining a competitive advantage
PennTAP has a proven successful track record of helping Pennsylvania companies develop and implement strategies to save money by conserving energy and reducing waste. The stories to the right are a collection of some of the E3 successes that we've helped our companies achieve over the past few years.
PennTAP is a member of the Environmental Sustainability Resource Center (ESRC) E3 Alliance serving EPA regions III and IV. The ESRC E3 Alliance initiative objectives are to create peer to peer networking to share E3 experiences, to facilitate dialogue incorporating common interest among E3 stakeholders, and to identify and share resources to support successful implementation of E3 projects.
The ESRC serves the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions III and IV with comprehensive online resources, news and information about pollution prevention. The center utilizes regional and national expertise to provide P2 information that is critical to state environmental agencies, businesses, educators, technical assistance providers and the general public. ESRC believes that helping organizations move toward environmental sustainability will reduce costs, minimize ecological impact and help conserve, protect and maintain our environment.
