Energy Management Systems, such as ISO 50001 and Superior Energy Performance (SEP), are powerful tools to ensure that a facility is continuously reducing its energy usage and environmental footprint. PennTAP will review the steps and requirements for certification under each system, and outline the benefits beyond reducing energy costs.

Saving Money Through ISO 50001 is an energy management system based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model of continuous improvement. ISO 50001 provides organizations with a framework for efficiently managing and improving their energy performance.

Benefits of implementing ISO 50001 include:

  • Reduce energy costs
  • Continually improve energy performance
  • Improve corporate image
  • Reduce your GHG emissions
  • Align your energy management with other business systems

PennTAP helps Pennsylvania companies improve their competitiveness by providing technical assistance and information to help resolve specific technical questions or needs. They have proven success of helping PA companies develop and implement strategies to save money by conserving energy and reducing waste.
